Eraldo Albertosi's late challenge caught a Stanga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Tondi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Massimini, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Stanga's goal looked a bit too open when Eraldo Albertosi came free, but Camillo Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cosimo Grilli fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stanga's protests and gave Cosimo Grilli a yellow card for diving instead. Fabio Tondi came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Stanga's Frank Massimini. But to his dismay, Frank Massimini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Camillo Fantini made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Anthony Pelati sent off a good shot on target. Fabio Tondi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippo Barresi in the 34th minute of play. If Frank Massimini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filippo Barresi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Tondi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Massimini in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Stanga getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dave Bellomo hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

A very good chance. Eraldo Albertosi might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camillo Fantini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eraldo Albertosi ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Albertosi in the 87th minute of play forced Stanga's goalkeeper Camillo Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Stanga getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Ciccio Del Grosso hit a great ball. The Stanga players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
