Amedeo Pellegrini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Palumbo having to interfere. Basta lmmaginarlo were furious when Beppe Gismondi was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 21 minutes into the match, Corrado Puce notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Costamezzana City's Eraldo Fini. Eraldo Fini was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Costamezzana City booed when Basta lmmaginarlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Di Domenico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corrado Puce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Basta lmmaginarlo's zone, Comunardo Iacovacci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Palumbo came out of the goal and Comunardo Iacovacci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Anselmo Pellecchia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Basta lmmaginarlo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amedeo Pellegrini to make the kick off. When Damiano Carlini fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costamezzana City's protests and gave Damiano Carlini a yellow card for diving instead. Damiano Carlini kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Eraldo Fini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corrado Puce in the 54th minute of the match. Basta lmmaginarlo's Diego Palumbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amedeo Pellegrini in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes Basta lmmaginarlo got a freekick which was hit by Florian Cardano. A collision led to Basta lmmaginarlo getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Florian Cardano hit a great ball. Corrado Puce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Fini having to interfere. Eraldo Fini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Pellecchia in the 77th minute. If Comunardo Iacovacci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelo Maia in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Palumbo saved Basta lmmaginarlo from getting behind. Damiano Carlini struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Diego Palumbo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costamezzana City. Corrado Puce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Fini having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Basta lmmaginarlo's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Maia came free, but Diego Palumbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costamezzana City's Comunardo Iacovacci got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Concetto Nazzari ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Palumbo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Chants of Basta lmmaginarlo echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Costamezzana City had held the ball for most of the match.
