After some careless play in the San Donato defense, Franco Ranieri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristiano Aversano. The San Donato fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Aversano should have stopped the shot. In the 34th match minute, San Donato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Paolucci to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the referee blew the final whistle, Flacara Militari could leave the field as winners, despite San Donato having more of the ball for most of the match.
