If Alberigo Benvenuto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fedele Grieco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrizio Orioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Achille Gulli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberigo Benvenuto made a kick off. When Cristoforo Berardini fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Arsenico's protests and gave Cristoforo Berardini a yellow card for diving instead. Cristoforo Berardini kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Arsenico's Cesare Formica got a free kick in the 66th minute. After having played for 71 minutes, Cristoforo Berardini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Arsenico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristoforo Berardini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee gave Cesare Formica a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
