Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrea Testa in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio Doris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, Leonardo's Alberto Briganti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrico Nicolini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leonardo's goalkeeper Claudio Doris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernesto Magno kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After 24 minutes of play, Starcom Roma's Florian De Paolis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudio Doris was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Florian De Paolis came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Starcom Roma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florian De Paolis couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, Andrea Testa notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Leonardo's Claudio Doris. Claudio Doris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 36 minutes, Andrea Testa made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Leonardo's Claudio Doris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Leonardo's Claudio Doris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian De Paolis in the 40th minute of play. If Andrea Testa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 played minutes Leonardo got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Vago. 45 minutes into the match, Starcom Roma's Alvaro Maestri broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrea Testa in the 47th minute of play forced Leonardo's goalkeeper Claudio Doris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Briganti was the one to do the kick off. Ernesto Magno hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The long shot by Alvaro Maestri in the 55th minute really tested Claudio Doris's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Leonardo booed when Starcom Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Maestri didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emilio Minotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudio Doris made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Florian De Paolis sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florian De Paolis got free with Claudio Doris in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfonso Ciccone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Nicolini having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Leonardo's zone, Andrea Testa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Doris came out of the goal and Andrea Testa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florian De Paolis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Claudio Doris made a huge save. Andrea Testa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Claudio Doris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Leonardo's zone, Alberigo De Santis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Doris came out of the goal and Alberigo De Santis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 82nd minute, but Claudio Doris got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Leonardo hanging dry this time. Andrea Testa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Starcom Roma's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Andrea Testa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo's Claudio Doris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Leonardo from getting a goal against them. When Alberto Briganti came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Leonardo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Briganti couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Emilio Minotti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrico Nicolini was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The Leonardo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Starcom Roma were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
