Thanks to some nice moves Florian De Paolis could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Christian Campoli however easily saved by the left post. 16 minutes into the game, Starcom Roma's Alberigo De Santis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Campoli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Şehzade Akburç fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Nicolini having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Starcom Roma's Cosimo Campana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Christian Campoli. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. The Starcom Roma fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fortaleza had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
