After a defensive mix-up in Paltana AFCa's zone, Aurelio Baggio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davide Bordon came out of the goal and Aurelio Baggio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Biagio Giacomini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Davide Bordon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Bernardo Cavallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Biagio Giacomini scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dario Maiorano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardo Cavallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Davide Bordon made a huge save. After having played for 38 minutes, Biagio Giacomini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paltana AFCa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Biagio Giacomini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Corvo in the 45th minute of play forced Villamontagna FC's goalkeeper Dario Maiorano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Aurelio Baggio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dario Maiorano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Corvo in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filippo Michelini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emiliano De Lucia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Paltana AFCa defense, Bernardo Cavallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Davide Bordon. The Paltana AFCa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davide Bordon should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippo Michelini in the 58th minute of play forced Paltana AFCa's goalkeeper Davide Bordon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filippo Michelini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Filippo Michelini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Davide Bordon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 69th match minute, Villamontagna FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Baggio to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Paltana AFCa's zone, Filippo Michelini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davide Bordon came out of the goal and Filippo Michelini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Biagio Giacomini was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Davide Bordon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippo Michelini in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Bernardo Cavallo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Davide Bordon. Paltana AFCa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardo Cavallo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 84th minute Filippo Michelini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davide Bordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugenio Corvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Maiorano having to interfere. Biagio Giacomini might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dario Maiorano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Biagio Giacomini ran back to his position shaking his head. Paltana AFCa's Eugenio Corvo got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Bernardo Cavallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filippo Michelini scored 4-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Davide Bordon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paltana AFCa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
