Spectators: 7650 (Terracing: 5700, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 150) Arrigo Mannella started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Ettore Pizzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arrigo Mannella fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Colombano's protests and gave Arrigo Mannella a yellow card for diving instead. Arrigo Mannella kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After 9 played minutes, Trieste's Alessandro Bolognini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfonso Giorda came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Trieste reached it. In the 12th match minute, San Colombano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvise Del Nero to maneuver through the defense. After 15 minutes San Colombano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alessandro Bolognini who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Trieste's corner Alessandro Bolognini fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfonso Giorda quite easily take care of the ball. Camillo Tocchetto took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfonso Giorda. Alfonso Giorda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 22 played minutes San Colombano got a freekick which was hit by Alvise Del Nero. When Trieste's Camillo Tocchetto in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Colombano's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Tocchetto in the 27th minute of play forced San Colombano's goalkeeper Alfonso Giorda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Polo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Fulvio Ricciuti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 38 minutes, Dave Bolognesi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trieste's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Bolognesi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute, Camillo Tocchetto made a precise shot to the right of Alfonso Giorda. San Colombano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Camillo Tocchetto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonso Giorda was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Camillo Tocchetto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trieste's supporters rose to their feet, but Camillo Tocchetto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Giorda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Camillo Tocchetto was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, San Colombano's Fulvio Ricciuti made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francesco Rava was left in no man's land by his defense there! 59 minutes into the match, Trieste's goal looked a bit too open when Fulvio Ricciuti came free, but Francesco Rava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Trieste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Bolognesi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Mannella in the 63rd minute of play forced Trieste's goalkeeper Francesco Rava to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trieste's Nico Williams got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alessandro Bolognini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes, Camillo Tocchetto made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. San Colombano's Alfonso Giorda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84th minute Trieste were awarded a corner. Alessandro Bolognini went to the cornerflag to take it. When Dave Bolognesi came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Trieste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Bolognesi couldn't finish the play. Trieste's Ennio Mansueto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Alfonso Giorda but with some difficulty. Fulvio Ricciuti struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Francesco Rava didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Colombano. Fulvio Iezzi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. If Fulvio Ricciuti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Fulvio Ricciuti notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Trieste's Francesco Rava. Francesco Rava was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
