A collision led to Italian Dream getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ernesto Giocondo hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viorel Rainea in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elia Rocchetti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 12 minutes, Fabio Arcangeli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Italian Dream and the Santa Nicola players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabio Arcangeli hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italian Dream's goalkeeper Alvise Scarpa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Santa Nicola getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eraldo Pasquino hit a great ball. If Viorel Rainea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viorel Rainea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Elia Rocchetti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Italian Dream's Alvise Scarpa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Italian Dream from getting a goal against them. Christian Russo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Ernesto Giocondo struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Elia Rocchetti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italian Dream. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernesto Giocondo during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Italian Dream was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Giocondo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ernesto Giocondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italian Dream's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Giocondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elia Rocchetti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the match, Santa Nicola's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Pelusi came free, but Elia Rocchetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmondo Pelusi was the one to do the kick off. Edmondo Pelusi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvise Scarpa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Di Rado in the 54th minute of the match. Santa Nicola's Elia Rocchetti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Nicola from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the match, Santa Nicola's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Pelusi came free, but Elia Rocchetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvise Scarpa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Di Rado in the 61st minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Italian Dream's Viorel Rainea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elia Rocchetti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amedeo Di Rado in the 68th minute of play forced Italian Dream's goalkeeper Alvise Scarpa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvise Scarpa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amedeo Di Rado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santa Nicola's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Ernesto Giocondo scored to the left of an out of position Elia Rocchetti, making the score, 0-2. Edmondo Pelusi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Italian Dream getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Viorel Rainea hit a great ball. Alvise Scarpa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Zangari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrico Iannotti hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amedeo Di Rado in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvise Scarpa saved Italian Dream from getting behind. In the 86th minute of the match Santa Nicola got a corner. Italian Dream's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bruno Zangari ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Italian Dream's zone, Bruno Zangari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvise Scarpa came out of the goal and Bruno Zangari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmondo Pelusi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Elia Rocchetti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Viorel Rainea came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Italian Dream fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viorel Rainea couldn't finish the play. Santa Nicola's Elia Rocchetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Giocondo in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Italian Dream eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
