After a defensive mix-up in Herberia Herons's zone, Ennio Buonanno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Mian came out of the goal and Ennio Buonanno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniele Paolini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Corvo in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match Giuseppe Basso climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Daniele Paolini. In the 20th minute, Giuseppe Basso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Daniele Paolini. The goal made the score 2-0. Diego Mian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio Buonanno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, PARMA's Ennio Buonanno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diego Mian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Basso in the 31st minute of play forced PARMA's goalkeeper Daniele Paolini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrado Puglielli's late challenge caught a PARMA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corrado Puglielli helped the player get up and apologised. Corrado Puglielli kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Herberia Herons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Basso to maneuver through the defense. Daniele Paolini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Marchesani in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Aurelio Corvo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniele Paolini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Corvo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ennio Buonanno managed to get in a good position for a shot. PARMA's supporters rose to their feet, but Ennio Buonanno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Mian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniele Paolini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giuseppe Basso's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Herberia Herons's Giuseppe Basso in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Ennio Buonanno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Mian was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute Ennio Buonanno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Mian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PARMA's Daniele Paolini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristoforo De Tommasi in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, PARMA's Ercole Catena got a free kick in the 85th minute. Daniele Paolini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristoforo De Tommasi in the 90th minute of play. Cristoforo De Tommasi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
