Gorla Minore's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gregorio Thomas in the 21st minute. Gorla Minore's Gregorio Thomas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Felice Coccolone in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the game's 21st minute Gorla Minore's Gregorio Thomas took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Felice Coccolone and thus the score was 0-1. Felice Coccolone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Thomas in the 26th minute of play. If Eraldo Verdini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregorio Thomas made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eraldo Verdini in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Colaneri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eraldo Verdini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Colaneri having to interfere. In the 60th minute of the match Muppet FC got a corner. Gorla Minore's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dario Latini ran over to the corner to take the kick. Felice Coccolone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Thomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eraldo Verdini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Colaneri having to interfere. Gregorio Thomas might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felice Coccolone. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gregorio Thomas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute Herensuge Manurga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Coccolone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Eraldo Verdini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muppet FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eraldo Verdini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Colaneri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Gregorio Thomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Coccolone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Muppet FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Thomas came free, but Felice Coccolone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Restaino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Felice Coccolone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gorla Minore's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
