The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Santa Marinella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Troilo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th match minute, Santa Marinella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Baciadonne to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Santa Marinella booed when ForzaToro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filippo Del Duca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Cristiano Sartori was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ForzaToro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Marinella the free kick. Santa Marinella were furious when Dario Luciani was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 16th minute, one of Santa Marinella:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Santa Marinella. A collision led to Santa Marinella getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Achille Carbonetti hit a great ball. Ettore Bruno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuele Cavanna, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Emanuele Cavanna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Bruno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ettore Bruno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuele Cavanna went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 35 minutes into the match, ForzaToro's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Cavanna came free, but Ettore Bruno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ettore Bruno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuele Cavanna, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Demetrio De Angelis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ettore Bruno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 46 played minutes Santa Marinella got a freekick which was hit by Demetrio De Angelis.

Ettore Bruno was a little too slow when Emanuele Cavanna got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-3. After a rather tough play, Santa Marinella's Emanuele Cavanna got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Filippo Del Duca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes ForzaToro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristiano Rainaldi who took care of the corner kick. Antonio Filippini tried in the 66th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Ettore Bruno a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-4. 69 minutes into the match, ForzaToro's goalkeeper Ettore Bruno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Demetrio De Angelis. Ettore Bruno made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Fausto Spada sent off a good shot on target. Emanuele Cavanna's late challenge caught a ForzaToro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuele Cavanna helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Santa Marinella's Emanuele Cavanna got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Filippo Del Duca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Marinella's Amos Lucentini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute, Fausto Spada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Marinella fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Emanuele Cavanna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, ForzaToro's Ettore Bruno got control of the ball when Demetrio De Angelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute Fausto Spada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Bruno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ForzaToro's Ettore Bruno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save ForzaToro from getting a goal against them. Ettore Bruno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuele Cavanna in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Santa Marinella left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ForzaToro.
