Reggina Calcio's attentive Bruno Serra managed to snatch the ball when Arturo Orsini made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. Fausto Monzeglio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferruccio Leoni in the 89th minute of play. With splendid footwork Ferruccio Leoni arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-9 by the left pole in the game's 89th minute. If Sven Widberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reggina Calcio's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
