Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Fausto Meazza kicked off to start the match. Carlo Formica charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlo Formica the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes C.C. Ortigia Siracusa got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Formica. Cesare Tristezza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Meazza in the 9th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Alfonso Coco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bologna and the C.C. Ortigia Siracusa players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Cesare Tristezza got control of the ball when Augusto De Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Augusto De Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Fabiano Zisser came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the C.C. Ortigia Siracusa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabiano Zisser couldn't finish the play. Bologna's Ermanno Rea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davide Negri in the 26th minute of play. If Augusto De Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Augusto De Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bologna's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto De Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesare Tristezza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augusto De Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesare Tristezza having to interfere. When C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Davide Negri in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bologna's goalie prevented a goal. Davide Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Bologna's Fausto Meazza in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's goalie prevented a goal. Augusto De Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davide Negri made a kick off. Carlo Formica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Cesare Tristezza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuele Cagnetta in the 60th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Bologna's Augusto De Rossi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cesare Tristezza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 64 minutes, Augusto De Rossi made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Cesare Tristezza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Augusto De Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Francesco Cera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augusto De Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bologna's zone, Davide Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermanno Rea came out of the goal and Davide Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augusto De Rossi struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Cesare Tristezza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bologna. Bologna's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
