Armin Bergamini came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eraldo La Marca could save by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Alfredo Fontana made the kick off in the second half. Armin Bergamini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eraldo La Marca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Fontana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eraldo La Marca was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game.
