The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edwin Godholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Fabiano Rago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuele Morelli got free with Lev Yashin in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute Edwin Godholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Rago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Longobarda's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Morelli came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmine Milani in the 15th minute of play forced Longobarda's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Longobarda getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Arnulfo Riba hit a great ball. After 19 minutes Longobarda's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Concetto Tacconelli who took care of the corner kick. 21 minutes into the match, Longobarda's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Morelli came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabiano Rago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Godholm in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute Edwin Godholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Rago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lev Yashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Milani in the 27th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Carmine Milani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lev Yashin. Longobarda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carmine Milani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Giancarlo Antognoni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Lev Yashin made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edwin Godholm in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Rago saved LIVIOFOREVER from getting behind. Lev Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmine Milani in the 35th minute of the match. Longobarda's Anthimos Vougas got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Longobarda's Lev Yashin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Longobarda from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Longobarda booed when LIVIOFOREVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmine Milani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edwin Godholm might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiano Rago. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edwin Godholm ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabiano Rago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Godholm in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of LIVIOFOREVER booed when Longobarda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Cherubini didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Longobarda's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Morelli came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Emanuele Morelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lev Yashin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Edwin Godholm came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabiano Rago could save by the left post. Longobarda's Lev Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuliano Galfrè in the 65th minute of play. After 66 minutes Longobarda's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Concetto Tacconelli who took care of the corner kick. LIVIOFOREVER's Carmine Milani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lev Yashin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fabiano Rago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Godholm in the 69th minute of play. If Manuel Zărnescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lev Yashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmine Milani, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, LIVIOFOREVER's Fabiano Rago got control of the ball when Edwin Godholm tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabiano Rago made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Edwin Godholm sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute Carmine Milani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florian Cocca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Fabiano Rago made a huge save. Longobarda's Angelo Pezzi was substituted for Anthimos Vougas. Longobarda made a substitution. Davide Moscatelli replaced Adriano Colantoni. Longobarda's Zhang Xiang was substituted for Florian Cocca. With a little luck, LIVIOFOREVER's Fabiano Rago got control of the ball when Zhang Xiang tried to sneak it across the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, LIVIOFOREVER's goalkeeper Fabiano Rago had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhang Xiang. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Longobarda. Edwin Godholm stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fabiano Rago. 2-1. If Edwin Godholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. LIVIOFOREVER's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
