Ádám György sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. József Bártfai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertalan Bodnár in the 18th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Miklós Murai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tompa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miklós Murai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Tompa booed when Soul Society was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. László Dárdai didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Soul Society's goal looked a bit too open when Endre Szigeti came free, but Benedek Csapó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Soul Society was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gábor Boda to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 33 minutes, Miklós Murai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tompa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miklós Murai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ádám György in the 42nd minute of play forced Tompa's goalkeeper József Bártfai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Endre Szigeti during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tompa getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Endre Szigeti hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Tompa's goal looked a bit too open when Ádám György came free, but József Bártfai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tompa's Imre Sárkány got a free kick in the 59th minute. Csaba Tamás's late challenge caught a Soul Society's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Csaba Tamás helped the player get up and apologised. Csaba Tamás kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, Soul Society's Ádám György made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. József Bártfai was left in no man's land by his defense there! 73 minutes into the match, Soul Society's Ádám György sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that József Bártfai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 74 minutes, István Halász mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tompa and the Soul Society players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 74 played minutes Tompa got a freekick which was hit by István Halász. In the 78th minute Endre Szigeti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedek Csapó saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Soul Society's Ádám György sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that József Bártfai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. József Bártfai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ádám György in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Ádám György managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soul Society's supporters rose to their feet, but Ádám György was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. József Bártfai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Ádám György put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of József Bártfai.
