Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Gara's goalkeeper István Salgó had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Csaba Káposztás. When Csaba Herczegh came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Sárospatak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Csaba Herczegh couldn't finish the play. If Csaba Káposztás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gara getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Áron Edelényi hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Csaba Herczegh in the 13th minute of play forced Gara's goalkeeper István Salgó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Gara's goal looked a bit too open when Csaba Herczegh came free, but István Salgó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sárospatak booed when Gara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Áron Edelényi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lukács Makai hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Bálint Varga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Csaba Káposztás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Salgó having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Csaba Herczegh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sárospatak's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gara the free kick. After 40 played minutes Sárospatak got a freekick which was hit by Csaba Herczegh. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Csaba Herczegh was the one to do the kick off. Bálint Varga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Endre Baranyai made a huge save. Vendel Zsinka struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Endre Baranyai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gara. István Salgó came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Sárospatak's Csaba Herczegh. But to his dismay, Csaba Herczegh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Csaba Herczegh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Csaba Herczegh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Csaba Herczegh came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Sárospatak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Csaba Herczegh couldn't finish the play. When Áron Edelényi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. Csaba Káposztás recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
