Kálmán Sárkány took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Péter Szász. Péter Szász dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gittegylet's Péter Szász played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfréd Döbrögi in the 23rd minute of play. Szabolcs Sallay charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Szabolcs Sallay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gittegylet's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 28th minute of the game, when Attila Sárkány after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of KARCAG FC's goal. Attila Sárkány was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Attila Sárkány's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Károly Andrássy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Attila Kocsis got free with Károly Andrássy in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Károly Andrássy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from István Balogh, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. A collision led to KARCAG FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Barnabás Bíró hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in KARCAG FC's zone, Zsolt Tisza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Károly Andrássy came out of the goal and Zsolt Tisza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Károly Andrássy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Attila Kocsis in the 44th minute. Károly Andrássy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attila Sárkány in the 45th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Attila Kocsis got free with Károly Andrássy in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Károly Andrássy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Károly Andrássy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attila Kocsis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Varga during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Gittegylet a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by István Balogh, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KARCAG FC's Károly Andrássy. 2-1. 74 minutes into the game, Gittegylet's István Balogh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Károly Andrássy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 78th minute István Balogh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Károly Andrássy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Péter Szász made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. 97 minutes into the match, Attila Kocsis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Károly Andrássy. KARCAG FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Attila Kocsis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gittegylet had played much better football throughout.
