With a little luck, Diósgyőri FC's Jeromos Császár got control of the ball when Csongor Végh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bánk Dala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bánk Dala in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Soma Káposztás saved Wooden Legs FC from getting behind. Wooden Legs FC's Soma Káposztás played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Vásárhelyi in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bánk Dala in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Soma Káposztás prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Csongor Végh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jeromos Császár tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Gábor Miklós kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jeromos Császár. That made the score 1-0 in the 37 minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Bánk Dala ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Soma Káposztás was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Diósgyőri FC booed when Wooden Legs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gyula Erdei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wooden Legs FC's Soma Káposztás proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Wooden Legs FC from getting a goal against them. Jeromos Császár was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Wooden Legs FC's zone, Rafael Vásárhelyi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Soma Káposztás came out of the goal and Rafael Vásárhelyi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Vásárhelyi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Soma Káposztás made a huge save. If Bánk Dala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Diósgyőri FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
