The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kornél Kósa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from György Kulcsár, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Dániel Selymes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Norbert Nagy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 8 minutes, Dániel Selymes made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Záhony FC's Norbert Nagy tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Attila Győri dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Norbert Nagy, 2-0. After some careless play in the Munkás defense, György Kulcsár kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kornél Kósa. The Munkás fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kornél Kósa should have stopped the shot. Kornél Kósa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from György Kulcsár, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Roman Noe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Záhony FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ferenc Takács hit a great ball. Munkás's Dániel Selymes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norbert Nagy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dániel Selymes in the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Záhony FC's Krisztián Pálfi got a free kick in the 30th minute. Dániel Selymess short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Norbert Nagy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kornél Kósa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from György Kulcsár in the 36th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Munkás's Attila Győri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norbert Nagy. That made the score 3-1 after 39 minutes of play. 43 minutes into the match, Lajos Zakariás notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Munkás's Kornél Kósa. Kornél Kósa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and György Kulcsár made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Munkás's goal looked a bit too open when György Kulcsár came free, but Kornél Kósa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. György Kulcsár fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kornél Kósa having to interfere. If György Kulcsár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attila Győri in the 65th minute of play forced Záhony FC's goalkeeper Norbert Nagy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Kornél Kósa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Munkás's Kornél Kósa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Takács in the 67th minute of play. Attila Győri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Nagy having to interfere. With a left leg Norbert Nagy saved Záhony FC from getting behind. Záhony FC's Ferenc Takács got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Záhony FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
