Gyula Vadas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Csaroda SE's Fülöp Rigó got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The Debrecen VSC fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Debrecen VSC's Adrián Fitos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 13 minutes into the game, Zalán Fülöp recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Egon Vásárhelyi. Zalán Fülöp showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 16 minutes into the game, Gábor Lisztes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Csaroda SE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Debrecen VSC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Csaroda SE got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Lisztes. Adorján Salgó's late challenge caught a Csaroda SE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adorján Salgó helped the player get up and apologised. Adorján Salgó kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Debrecen VSC's goalkeeper Egon Vásárhelyi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Péter Puskás. Tibor Benczur hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Egon Vásárhelyi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Károly Szőnyi. In the 25th match minute, Debrecen VSC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Endre Szűcs to maneuver through the defense. Árpád Baráth hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th match minute, Debrecen VSC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Medárd Csontos to maneuver through the defense. Adorján Salgó, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ábel Fülöp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gyula Vadas in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Gyula Vadas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Adrián Fitos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th match minute, Debrecen VSC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tibor Benczur to maneuver through the defense. In the 50th minute of the match Csaroda SE got a corner. Debrecen VSC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Károly Szőnyi ran over to the corner to take the kick. At last the ball reached Gábor Lisztes at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Debrecen VSC. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrián Fitos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zalán Fülöp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Debrecen VSC's zone, Péter Puskás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egon Vásárhelyi came out of the goal and Péter Puskás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Endre Szűcs fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Debrecen VSC's protests and gave Endre Szűcs a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Csaroda SE's Zalán Fülöp got a free kick in the 89th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Csaroda SE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 94 minutes, Debrecen VSC's Adorján Salgó got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ábel Fülöp. Adrián Fitos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ábel Fülöp having to interfere.
