Gyula Zombori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from János Gulyás in the 9th minute of the match. József Hollósi's late challenge caught a Chelsea LUTON's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. József Hollósi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Football Fanatics getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. József Hollósi hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Vilmos Tököli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gyula Zombori was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Chelsea LUTON's Elemér Tunyogi got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 19 minutes, Milán Szőnyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Football Fanatics and the Chelsea LUTON players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Chelsea LUTON booed when Football Fanatics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milán Szőnyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes, János Gulyás made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Football Fanatics's Gyula Zombori tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zoltán Pataki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Patrik Bán tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vilmos Tököli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gyula Zombori having to interfere. When Bálint Katona fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea LUTON's protests and gave Bálint Katona a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelsea LUTON's goalkeeper Patrik Bán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vilmos Tököli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gyula Zombori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Vilmos Tököli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Vilmos Tököli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea LUTON's supporters rose to their feet, but Vilmos Tököli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gyula Zombori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Chelsea LUTON were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 minutes, Ferenc Kiss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Football Fanatics and the Chelsea LUTON players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ferenc Kiss hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Vilmos Tököli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gyula Zombori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gyula Zombori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilmos Tököli in the 57th minute of play. When Chelsea LUTON's János Gulyás in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chelsea LUTON's Vilmos Tököli got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, József Hollósi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrik Bán. Chelsea LUTON's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that József Hollósi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Gyula Zombori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilmos Tököli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Vilmos Tököli notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Football Fanatics's Gyula Zombori. Gyula Zombori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. József Hollósi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vilmos Tököli might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gyula Zombori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vilmos Tököli ran back to his position shaking his head. Ferenc Kiss hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferenc Gera during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Football Fanatics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferenc Gera to maneuver through the defense. Milán Szőnyi took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrik Bán. Patrik Bán dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when János Gulyás got free with Gyula Zombori in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
