The audience thought a goal was coming when Vencel Battai got free with Henrik Rákosi in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mátyás Keresztesi scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sándor Csontos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by József Varsányi in the 15th minute of play forced Zuglói Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Henrik Rákosi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Zakariás Gerő was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zuglói Arsenal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gulács FC the free kick. In the 16th minute, Zakariás Gerő hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sándor Csontos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mátyás Keresztesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. József Varsányi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lajos Albert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Henrik Rákosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sándor Csontos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zakariás Gerő, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gábor Gerencsér in the 25th minute of play forced Gulács FC's goalkeeper Sándor Csontos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sándor Csontos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mátyás Keresztesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Béla Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sándor Csontos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gulács FC's Sándor Csontos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mátyás Keresztesi in the 33rd minute of play. József Varsányi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrik Rákosi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Zuglói Arsenal FC's zone, Vencel Battai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrik Rákosi came out of the goal and Vencel Battai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lajos Albert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Henrik Rákosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Gulács FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gábor Gerencsér came free, but Sándor Csontos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 43 minutes on the clock, Vendel Gergely commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 43rd minute, one of Gulács FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gulács FC. The referee gave Zuglói Arsenal FC a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tibor Szűcs, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gulács FC's Sándor Csontos. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mátyás Keresztesi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Mátyás Keresztesi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sándor Csontos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 55 minutes, Mátyás Keresztesi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zuglói Arsenal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mátyás Keresztesi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sándor Csontos made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Gábor Gerencsér sent off a good shot on target. After 61 played minutes Zuglói Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Gerencsér. Gábor Gerencsér succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 63rd playminute. Sándor Csontos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mátyás Keresztesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Gábor Gerencsér fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sándor Csontos having to interfere. Pál Forgács could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Sándor Csontos made a huge save. Lajos Albert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Árpád Gáspár in the 85th minute really tested Sándor Csontos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Zuglói Arsenal FC's Pál Forgács slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sándor Csontos. That made the score 2-4 after 88 minutes of play. Zuglói Arsenal FC's Henrik Rákosi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lajos Albert in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95thth minute of the game József Varsányi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zuglói Arsenal FC's Henrik Rákosi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lajos Albert struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Henrik Rákosi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gulács FC. The Gulács FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Zuglói Arsenal FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Zuglói Arsenal FC.
