Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling József Bíró in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gatot Linaa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Gyula Pulai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hedrehely VTK's supporters rose to their feet, but Gyula Pulai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gatot Linaa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcell Benkó got free with Lajos Kocsis in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hedrehely VTK's Lajos Kocsis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gusztáv Szőke in the 31st minute of play. After 32 minutes, Dömötör Menyhért mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hedrehely VTK and the Szentendre FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Hedrehely VTK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dömötör Menyhért to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Hedrehely VTK's zone, Gusztáv Szőke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lajos Kocsis came out of the goal and Gusztáv Szőke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcell Benkó fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lajos Kocsis having to interfere. Gusztáv Szőke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lajos Kocsis having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gyula Pulai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gatot Linaa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Marcell Benkó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lajos Kocsis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58thth minute of the game Gusztáv Szőke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hedrehely VTK's Lajos Kocsis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lajos Kocsis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcell Benkó, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Richárd Szőllőssy fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szentendre FC's protests and gave Richárd Szőllőssy a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that József Bíró's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gatot Linaa was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Hedrehely VTK's Gyula Pulai got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
