The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Károly Láng hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gomba SK's zone, Jónás Hegyi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kálmán Virágh came out of the goal and Jónás Hegyi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Krisztián Bodnár could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Kálmán Virágh made a huge save. If Krisztián Bodnár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes, Zaaianians MP's Olivér Kis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kálmán Virágh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zaaianians MP reached it. If Roland Madarász had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domonkos Szalay hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match Ervin Petres sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but György Kiss skillfully saved the ball. Gomba SK's Roland Madarász got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Domonkos Szalay hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Kálmán Virágh successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kálmán Virágh was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Krisztián Bodnár showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jónás Hegyi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Zaaianians MP's goal looked a bit too open when András Sinkó came free, but György Kiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. István Veress hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Roland Madarász ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. György Kiss was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Roland Madarász came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Gomba SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Madarász couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that András Sinkó's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but György Kiss was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 72nd minute, András Sinkó made a precise shot to the right of György Kiss. Zaaianians MP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 79 minutes, Károly Láng mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gomba SK and the Zaaianians MP players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Gomba SK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zaaianians MP:s goal. In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Zaaianians MP. István Veress stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kálmán Virágh. 2-2. György Kiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from András Sinkó, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Gomba SK's Roland Madarász sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that György Kiss narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kálmán Virágh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jónás Hegyi in the 96th minute of the match. After having played for 99 minutes, András Sinkó managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomba SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but András Sinkó was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
