The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erik Hellinger's late challenge caught a Gomba SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gomba SK's Kálmán Virágh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Gomba SK from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Boar Hunters's zone, Roland Madarász stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. István Gyarmati came out of the goal and Roland Madarász tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, András Sinkó notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Boar Hunters's István Gyarmati. István Gyarmati was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. András Sinkó received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. István Gyarmati tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Csanád Tímár managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boar Hunters's supporters rose to their feet, but Csanád Tímár was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kálmán Virágh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the match, Attila Simon notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gomba SK's Kálmán Virágh. Kálmán Virágh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when András Sinkó stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gomba SK's Richárd Újvári got a free kick in the 52nd minute. István Gyarmati stood somewhat misplaced when Roland Madarász came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 63 minute. Kálmán Virágh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from György Csonka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Csanád Tímár fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kálmán Virágh having to interfere. If György Csonka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boar Hunters's Csanád Tímár got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kálmán Virágh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from György Csonka in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling György Csonka in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kálmán Virágh prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
