The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Virgil van Beek charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgil van Beek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC RED BUL! In the 16th minute Rodolfo Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but József Rigó saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodolfo Carvalho in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. AS Mohács's Attila Tokody played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 41st minute of play. József Rigó showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konrad Saugman, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half AS Mohács were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 52nd minute of play forced AS Mohács's goalkeeper Attila Tokody to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. József Rigó made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Carvalho in the 56th minute. FC RED BUL's József Rigó proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save FC RED BUL from getting a goal against them. Attila Tokody made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 66th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Szilárd Virág managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC RED BUL's supporters rose to their feet, but Szilárd Virág was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Attila Tokody breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Szilárd Virág hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Frigyes Tisza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without József Rigó having to interfere. A collision led to FC RED BUL getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Virgil van Beek hit a great ball. The FC RED BUL manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing AS Mohács to win.
