Nagykarácsony's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szombathelyi HALADÁS the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Nagykarácsony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by János Zarka to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Bánk Mónos put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eulalio Gudesteo. Félix Baló sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Torsten Sundin came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Nagykarácsony fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torsten Sundin couldn't finish the play. Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Károly Balogh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Szabolcs Vándor in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Bánk Mónos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eulalio Gudesteo. Eulalio Gudesteo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Viktor Galambos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Gudesteo having to interfere. Torsten Sundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eulalio Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viktor Galambos in the 42nd minute of play. Eulalio Gudesteo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Viktor Galambos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 44 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bánk Mónos to make the kick off. When János Zarka came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Nagykarácsony fans jumped to their feet. Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Károly Balogh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Szombathelyi HALADÁS from getting a goal against them. Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Levente Takács was substituted for István Véber. After a defensive mix-up in Szombathelyi HALADÁS's zone, Torsten Sundin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Károly Balogh came out of the goal and Torsten Sundin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If János Zarka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Nagykarácsony's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Nagykarácsony may have spent more time on the ball, but Szombathelyi HALADÁS were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
