In the 2nd minute Giorgos Charisteas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torsten Sundin got free with Yakut Bergin in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th match minute, Nagykarácsony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khalida Amirouche to maneuver through the defense. Eulalio Gudesteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Szoboszlai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vajka FC's Yakut Bergin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by János Zarka in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Vajka FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attila Takács to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Nagykarácsony's Torsten Sundin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yakut Bergin. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by János Zarka in the 18th minute of play forced Vajka FC's goalkeeper Yakut Bergin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vajka FC's Yakut Bergin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Vajka FC from getting a goal against them. Khalida Amirouche made a great header on Nagykarácsony's corner, it was just that Vajka FC's Yakut Bergin managed to reach the ball for a save. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vajka FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Eulalio Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rajmund Szakács in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Rajmund Szakács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torsten Sundin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Yakut Bergin made a huge save. János Zarka took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yakut Bergin. Yakut Bergin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Szabolcs Vándor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yakut Bergin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from János Zarka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torsten Sundin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Szabolcs Vándor came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Nagykarácsony fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Szabolcs Vándor couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute Rajmund Szakács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 66th minute of play forced Nagykarácsony's goalkeeper Eulalio Gudesteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yakut Bergin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from János Zarka in the 76th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Torsten Sundin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yakut Bergin was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Eulalio Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 80th minute of play. Dominik Szoboszlai's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. After having played for 87 minutes, János Zarka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nagykarácsony's supporters crossed their fingers, but János Zarka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Nagykarácsony getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Félix Baló hit a great ball. Szabolcs Vándor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yakut Bergin having to interfere. Nagykarácsony were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vajka FC for a fine match.
