Tomo Dedaj's late challenge caught a NK BALUG ZAGREB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomo Dedaj helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Voloder Uskok's Tomo Dedaj got a free kick in the 9th minute. Dejan Bekan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edi Zauner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dejan Bekan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Branko Šimunić in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edi Zauner saved Voloder Uskok from getting behind. Voloder Uskok's Edi Zauner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dejan Bekan in the 23rd minute of play. Dejan Bekan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Augustin Martinis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Voloder Uskok's Edi Zauner. Edi Zauner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edi Zauner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Branko Šimunić in the 45th minute of play. Florijan Posenjak scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Krešo Opačak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Florijan Posenjak made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Branko Šimunić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NK BALUG ZAGREB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Branko Šimunić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augustin Martinis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Edi Zauner made a huge save. Augustin Martinis took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edi Zauner. Edi Zauner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Branko Šimunić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Martinis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Edi Zauner made a huge save. When Dejan Bekan came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the NK BALUG ZAGREB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dejan Bekan couldn't finish the play. NK BALUG ZAGREB's Krešo Opačak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Časlav Špika in the 73rd minute of play. If Augustin Martinis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Voloder Uskok's Edi Zauner got control of the ball when Augustin Martinis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Branko Šimunić had several of the Voloder Uskok's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 81 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Edi Zauner as he didn't even see the shot coming. Augustin Martinis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Edi Zauner made a huge save. A collision led to NK BALUG ZAGREB getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Dejan Bekan hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded NK BALUG ZAGREB left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Voloder Uskok.
