In the 3rd minute, Stanko Žalik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 5 played minutes FC Grobnik United got a freekick which was hit by Berislav Podvršnik. Dubravko Marčić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Većeslav Sviben in the 8th minute of the match. Boris Starčević hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Gromačnik ONK's Duško Hrmić shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Stojko Alimanović but with some difficulty. Stojko Alimanović stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toni Hodak's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Gustav Stepanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stojko Alimanović having to interfere. In the 14th play minute Oton Jakiša came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Stojko Alimanović. 1-0. Dubravko Marčić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanko Žalik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dubravko Marčić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanko Žalik in the 21st minute of the match. Stanko Žalik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Dubravko Marčić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gromačnik ONK's Dubravko Marčić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jura Mihelić in the 30th minute of play. Berislav Podvršnik, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Stojko Alimanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toni Hodak, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Grobnik United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Stojko Alimanović went to the wrong direction when Duško Hrmić was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. FC Grobnik United's Stojko Alimanović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Hodak in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to Gromačnik ONK getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Hrvoje Grbić hit a great ball. Dubravko Marčić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berislav Podvršnik, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Stojko Alimanović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oton Jakiša in the 56th minute of play. Stojko Alimanović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Hodak in the 59th minute of the match. If Oton Jakiša had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gromačnik ONK booed when FC Grobnik United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Blašković didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oton Jakiša in the 64th minute of play forced FC Grobnik United's goalkeeper Stojko Alimanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanko Žalik in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dubravko Marčić saved Gromačnik ONK from getting behind. Stanko Žalik struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dubravko Marčić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Grobnik United.
