Frano Komadinić's late challenge caught a NK Istra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frano Komadinić helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Marija Bistrica getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Frano Komadinić hit a great ball. Miha Dodig came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Marija Bistrica's Zoltan Mrkić. But to his dismay, Zoltan Mrkić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Frano Komadinić struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Miha Dodig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marija Bistrica. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frano Komadinić to make the kick off. Miha Dodig didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 54th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. The supporters of Marija Bistrica booed when NK Istra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perica Stanetti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frano Komadinić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miha Dodig having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Frano Komadinić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marija Bistrica's supporters rose to their feet, but Frano Komadinić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miha Dodig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Perica Stanetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Frano Komadinić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miha Dodig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frano Komadinić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Miha Dodig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The NK Istra fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Marija Bistrica were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
