Marinci's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unique Squad the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Marinci fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Sandi Dumančić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatan Pintar in the 26th minute of play. Zlatan Pintar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sandi Dumančić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mislav Brdar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Mislav Brdar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marinci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mislav Brdar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mislav Brdar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mislav Brdar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nedjeljko Ljubičić to strike the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandi Dumančić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mijo Čotić kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Unique Squad's zone, Dražen Milanković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandi Dumančić came out of the goal and Dražen Milanković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mislav Brdar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nedjeljko Ljubičić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nenad Široka having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Zlatan Pintar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
