Grga Malibrk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Franko Traživuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Grga Malibrk came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the NK Medvidovici fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grga Malibrk couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grga Malibrk in the 11th minute of play forced FC Giraffes's goalkeeper Franko Traživuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Grga Malibrk came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the NK Medvidovici fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 18 minutes, Edi Dobrović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Giraffes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edi Dobrović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 played minutes NK Medvidovici got a freekick which was hit by Jadran Hercigonja. The supporters of NK Medvidovici booed when FC Giraffes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ratko Stemberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, NK Medvidovici's goal looked a bit too open when Adolf Petrač came free, but Stjepan Trohar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Giraffes getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Cvjetko Čolaković hit a great ball. FC Giraffes's Franko Traživuk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save FC Giraffes from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edi Dobrović in the 33rd minute of play forced NK Medvidovici's goalkeeper Stjepan Trohar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alen Bandić in the 38th minute of play forced FC Giraffes's goalkeeper Franko Traživuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Giraffes's Cvjetko Čolaković got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Franko Traživuk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jasenko Ivančić in the 43rd minute. Grga Malibrk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stjepan Trohar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolf Petrač in the 47th minute of play. When Jadran Hercigonja fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NK Medvidovici's protests and gave Jadran Hercigonja a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, NK Medvidovici's Jadran Hercigonja got a free kick in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edi Dobrović to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Edi Dobrović made a precise shot to the right of Stjepan Trohar. NK Medvidovici's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 59 minutes, Edi Dobrović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Giraffes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edi Dobrović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 65 minutes, Blaženko Pivac mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Giraffes and the NK Medvidovici players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Giraffes's Blaženko Pivac got a free kick in the 65th minute. FC Giraffes's Franko Traživuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mate Čondrić in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Jasenko Ivančić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franko Traživuk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edi Dobrović could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Stjepan Trohar made a huge save. Edi Dobrović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edi Dobrović might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stjepan Trohar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edi Dobrović ran back to his position shaking his head. Franko Traživuk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasenko Ivančić, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Edi Dobrović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Giraffes walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
