NK Zrinski's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ibrica Čaplar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of NK Zrinski's goalie and right to Ostoja Zgurić. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. NK Zrinski's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ibrica Čaplar took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Đino Vračarić. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kristijan Bobićs short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Dionisio Mikolas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivica Balaško stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rene Dugec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đino Vračarić having to interfere. After 85th play minutes Ivica Balaško shot 1-7, a short shot which went by Đino Vračarić and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Barun United getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Anđelko Nemet hit a great ball. After 91 played minutes, NK Zrinski's Pravdan Delale shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dionisio Mikolas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NK Zrinski reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Rene Dugec managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barun United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rene Dugec was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đino Vračarić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute Rene Dugec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đino Vračarić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Đino Vračarić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivica Balaško's shot from short distance in the 97th minute.
