Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jakša Gašpert in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petar Ferdić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, NK Rječina's Ilija Lemić got a free kick in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the game, ZP grey wolves's Jakša Gašpert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petar Ferdić made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A hard shot 16 in the game by Veselin Kukec from a close distance when the talented Berislav Vujičić managed to make a qualified save. ZP grey wolves's players were relieved. If Jakša Gašpert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in NK Rječina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for ZP grey wolves. Pavao Vazdar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Petar Ferdić. 0-2. Mate Pačić kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Pavao Vazdar sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and NK Rječina's Petar Ferdić didn't even have to move. Jakša Gašpert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Petar Ferdić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toni Uroda kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Mate Pačić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 played minutes NK Rječina got a freekick which was hit by Dobroslav Adžija. After 41 minutes, Mate Pačić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NK Rječina and the ZP grey wolves players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st match minute, NK Rječina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mate Pačić to maneuver through the defense. Jakša Gašpert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petar Ferdić having to interfere. Petar Ferdić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakša Gašpert in the 46th minute of the match. ZP grey wolves's Jan Pigac got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jakša Gašpert to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Oton Mužanović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Pigac could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Petar Ferdić made a huge save. Jan Pigac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petar Ferdić having to interfere. ZP grey wolves's Jan Pigac suffered a concussion in the 61st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 61 minutes into the game, Despot Žufić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Rječina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZP grey wolves the free kick. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for ZP grey wolves. Pavao Vazdar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Petar Ferdić. 0-3. 70 minutes into the game, Toni Uroda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Rječina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZP grey wolves the free kick. A collision led to NK Rječina getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Toni Uroda hit a great ball. The long shot by Pavao Vazdar in the 71st minute really tested Petar Ferdić's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Petar Ferdić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakša Gašpert, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 80th minute Jakša Gašpert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petar Ferdić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to NK Rječina getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ilija Lemić hit a great ball. Petar Ferdić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakša Gašpert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, NK Rječina's Veselin Kukec sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Berislav Vujičić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakša Gašpert in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petar Ferdić saved NK Rječina from getting behind. Ilija Lemić kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Jakša Gašpert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petar Ferdić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakša Gašpert in the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over ZP grey wolves could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NK Rječina throughout the match.
