Benjamin Vukelić took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marko Reljić. Marko Reljić dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Njegoš Dominković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marko Reljić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Branko Mijatović in the 16th minute of play. Florijan Dominković was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Varteks's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Zoran Kaleb was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Florijan Dominković capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Florijan Dominković really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Zoran Kaleb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florijan Dominković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Florijan Dominković managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varteks's supporters rose to their feet, but Florijan Dominković was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zoran Kaleb breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zoran Kaleb made an important save on a dangerous shot by Držimir Ledenko in the 34th minute. With a little luck, HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC's Zoran Kaleb got control of the ball when Držimir Ledenko tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Držimir Ledenko got free with Zoran Kaleb in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th match minute, HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Njegoš Dominković to maneuver through the defense. Zoran Kaleb made an important save on a dangerous shot by Držimir Ledenko in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florijan Dominković to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Držimir Ledenko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Zoran Kaleb was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 57 minutes into the match, HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC's Branko Mijatović sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marko Reljić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 61 minutes, Njegoš Dominković managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Njegoš Dominković was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 62 played minutes HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC got a freekick which was hit by Emil Krklec. 66 minutes into the match, HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC's goal looked a bit too open when Držimir Ledenko came free, but Zoran Kaleb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Vukelić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marko Reljić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute of the match Feliks Čaplar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zoran Kaleb skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Florijan Dominković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zoran Kaleb was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. After 80 played minutes HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC got a freekick which was hit by Berislav Mužić. Florijan Dominković's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zoran Kaleb read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florijan Dominković in the 84th minute of play forced HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC's goalkeeper Zoran Kaleb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Florijan Dominković left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varteks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Držimir Ledenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zoran Kaleb having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamin Vukelić during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Varteks's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Feliks Čaplar in the 97th minute. Zoran Kaleb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Držimir Ledenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Varteks had played much better football throughout.
