After 9 minutes of play, Nk Pregrada's Vanja Basarić made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivica Brdar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jan Fiket got a throw-in 17 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alen Tučkorić. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jadran Uljević got free with Natko Stiplošek in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivica Brdar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vanja Basarić in the 21st minute of play. Jan Fiket hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Lovro Galinec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivica Brdar was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 29th minute, Vanja Basarić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivica Brdar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 32 minutes in the game Leopold Ambauen did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Lovro Galinec. Mersin's Ivica Brdar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lovro Galinec in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mersin! Mersin:s Ivica Brdar showed great skill when he stopped Vanja Basarić:s penalty. After some careless play in the Mersin defense, Vanja Basarić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivica Brdar. The Mersin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivica Brdar should have stopped the shot. After having played for 38 minutes, Duško Modić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Stanimir Zorić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivica Brdar came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Nk Pregrada's Lovro Galinec. But to his dismay, Lovro Galinec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Mersin's Ivica Brdar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Mersin from getting a goal against them. Vanja Basarić might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivica Brdar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vanja Basarić ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivica Brdar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell-Arne Kalfhage, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Mersin's Ivica Brdar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vanja Basarić in the 68th minute of play. Ivica Brdar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vanja Basarić in the 74th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Vanja Basarić took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Ivica Brdar to make any attempt to save it. Nk Pregrada's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
