The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miran Vulić during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes Široko Polje got a freekick which was hit by Miran Vulić. In the 8th minute, Jakov Futač got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9th match minute, Široko Polje was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janko Komerički to maneuver through the defense. Široko Polje's Aleksandar Isaković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakov Futač in the 13th minute of play. Krešo Knez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandar Isaković having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Jakov Futač fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aleksandar Isaković, passed just outside the right post. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pula fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Janko Komerički shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 26 minutes into the game, Široko Polje's Dario Domijan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Sandström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Krešo Knez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 34th minute, Široko Polje's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Krešo Knez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Široko Polje getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Gojko Mičeta hit a great ball. Krešo Knez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aleksandar Isaković firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 45th minute, Tomislav Jelinek made a precise shot to the right of Arne Sandström. Pula's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Pula's Francesco Capone was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aleksandar Isaković in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 58th minute, Gradimir Marčić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Široko Polje's zone, Francesco Capone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aleksandar Isaković came out of the goal and Francesco Capone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jakov Futač had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Veljko Koščec kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 71 minutes, Miroslav Jambrišak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Široko Polje and the Pula players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miroslav Jambrišak hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Široko Polje's Gradimir Marčić got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Kryspin Rzeszutko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Aleksandar Isaković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Krešo Knez struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Aleksandar Isaković didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pula. Francesco Capone hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Široko Polje's Gojko Mičeta got a free kick in the 85th minute. A collision led to Pula getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Viggo Hed hit a great ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Široko Polje were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Pula side.
