If Adrijan Travar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Biškup in the 23rd minute of play forced Roždanik's goalkeeper Mihovil Šupe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihovil Šupe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mato Đorđević, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Adrijan Travar got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 33 minutes into the match, Roždanik's goalkeeper Mihovil Šupe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paško Kolarević. After having played for 35 minutes, Krunoslav Dabović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zagrebspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Krunoslav Dabović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teo Cukrov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Roždanik's zone, Mato Đorđević stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihovil Šupe came out of the goal and Mato Đorđević tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihovil Šupe made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Adrijan Travar sent off a good shot on target. Lazar Purgar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vjekoslav Zdjelarević, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natko Manulić to make the kick off. In the 68th minute Mato Đorđević shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihovil Šupe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Roždanik's Mile Bećir got a free kick in the 69th minute. The supporters of Roždanik booed when Zagrebspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Biškup didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Roždanik's zone, Adrijan Travar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihovil Šupe came out of the goal and Adrijan Travar tried to chip the ball over his head. Mijat Pejdo hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Adrijan Travar might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mihovil Šupe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adrijan Travar ran back to his position shaking his head. Adrijan Travar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihovil Šupe having to interfere. Zagrebspor's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
