The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The throw-in from Ljubomir Belinić in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Nk Borongaj Zagreb's Miroslav Moćan. 11 minutes into the match, Nk Borongaj Zagreb's goal looked a bit too open when Adolf Mandarić came free, but Adilson da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adolf Mandarić received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adilson da Rocha came out and tried to block the shot, but Adolf Mandarić slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. In the 26th minute Fabiano Zonta suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Bojan Arbanas charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bojan Arbanas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bojan Arbanas kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Nk Borongaj Zagreb defense, Adolf Mandarić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adilson da Rocha. The Nk Borongaj Zagreb fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adilson da Rocha should have stopped the shot. Adilson da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolf Mandarić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jadran Habulin hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th play minute Pavel Čopec came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Adilson da Rocha. 5-0. After 39 played minutes Orbiteri got a freekick which was hit by Bojan Arbanas. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolf Mandarić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Pavel Čopec notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Nk Borongaj Zagreb's Adilson da Rocha. Adilson da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Nk Borongaj Zagreb's zone, Pavel Čopec stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adilson da Rocha came out of the goal and Pavel Čopec tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute Pavel Čopec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orbiteri were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Nk Borongaj Zagreb's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adolf Mandarić took the corner. Pavel Čopec kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Orbiteri's Adolf Mandarić got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Pavel Čopec managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orbiteri's supporters rose to their feet, but Pavel Čopec was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adilson da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
