Dinko Planinić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Valentin Špika made a huge save. After a rather tough play, hajduk split's Veselin Matešić got a free kick in the 11th minute. After a defensive mix-up in hajduk split's zone, Dino Šoljaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Špika came out of the goal and Dino Šoljaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valentin Špika came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Rakitje's Mislav Hac. But to his dismay, Mislav Hac quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 19th minute Veselin Matešić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janko Ilišević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Robert Valentić had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Janko Ilišević. Rakitje's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robert Valentić was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Janko Ilišević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Topol in the 24th minute of the match. Janko Ilišević didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eugen Topol went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Dinko Planinić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Špika having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Rakitje's Lazar Mekić got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Sandi Balajić struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. When Dinko Planinić, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 48 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Valentin Špika was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After the first half hajduk split were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
In the 53rd minute Dinko Planinić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Špika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nikola Lozar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dino Šoljaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Patrik Stojnić recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Janko Ilišević. Patrik Stojnić showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After 66 played minutes hajduk split got a freekick which was hit by Šimun Mornar. Veselin Matešić kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Rakitje got a freekick which was hit by Lazar Mekić. After 75 played minutes hajduk split's Patrik Stojnić stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Janko Ilišević stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Rakitje of the goal. Dino Šoljaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Valentin Špika tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Špika showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Šoljaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
