The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Radoslav Ivanković hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ivan Ćosić's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vlaho Modrah was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. The supporters of Leeds United AFC booed when Kanarinci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toni Šimić didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Ivan Ćosić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leeds United AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Ćosić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vlaho Modrah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11thth minute of the game Dragutin Vasiljević who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leeds United AFC's Kristijan Čuljak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Kanarinci defense, Leon Predan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vlaho Modrah. The Kanarinci fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vlaho Modrah should have stopped the shot. 17 minutes into the match, Joško Poklepović had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vlaho Modrah. Kanarinci's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joško Poklepović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Kristijan Čuljak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dragutin Vasiljević's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Dobroslav Vodanović kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Leeds United AFC booed when Kanarinci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ostoja Martinović didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Ivan Ćosić put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Vlaho Modrah. After 30 played minutes Kanarinci got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Dragišić. Vlaho Modrah stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Ćosić's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. After a rather tough play, Leeds United AFC's Njegoslav Mamić got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute, Ivan Ćosić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vlaho Ćavar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Leeds United AFC's zone, Radoslav Ivanković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristijan Čuljak came out of the goal and Radoslav Ivanković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Kanarinci players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Leeds United AFC were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dragutin Vasiljević to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Ćosić had several of the Kanarinci's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 51 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Vlaho Modrah as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Ivan Ćosić came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Leeds United AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Ćosić couldn't finish the play. Ostoja Martinović kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Kanarinci defense, Joško Poklepović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vlaho Modrah. The Kanarinci fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vlaho Modrah should have stopped the shot. Ivan Ćosić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlaho Modrah having to make a save. Dado Kuna hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Leon Predan hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 played minutes Leeds United AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leon Predan. 72 minutes into the match, Kanarinci's Petar Krile sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kristijan Čuljak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 74th play minutes Ivan Ćosić shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Vlaho Modrah and just under the crossbar into goal. Joško Poklepović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Leeds United AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Petar Krile came free, but Kristijan Čuljak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Ivan Ćosić recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vlaho Modrah. Ivan Ćosić showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. In the 83rd minute, Ivan Ćosić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vlaho Modrah was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Ivan Ćosić capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivan Ćosić really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9.
