In the 3rd minute, Leon Čorković made a precise shot to the right of Vlaho Modrah. Kanarinci's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Romeo Pugelnik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vlaho Modrah was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Romeo Pugelnik put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Vlaho Modrah. Vlaho Modrah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Čorković in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kanarinci's Dragutin Vasiljević got a free kick in the 12th minute. The supporters of Banovci Polet booed when Kanarinci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radoslav Ivanković didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 played minutes Kanarinci got a freekick which was hit by Dinko Čamagajevac. Vlaho Modrah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Čorković in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeo Pugelnik in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vlaho Modrah saved Kanarinci from getting behind. Vlaho Modrah stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romeo Pugelnik's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Renato Žeželj in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Kanarinci's Dinko Čamagajevac. Vlaho Modrah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Čorković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th match minute, Kanarinci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radoslav Ivanković to maneuver through the defense. Leon Čorković blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlaho Modrah having to make a save. Nebojša Maljković struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Vlaho Modrah didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banovci Polet. Borko Šterger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Radoslav Ivanković in the 45th minute. The Kanarinci players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Banovci Polet were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dragutin Vasiljević made a kick off. Radoslav Ivanković kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Kanarinci's Vlaho Modrah played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nebojša Maljković in the 56th minute of play. Romeo Pugelniks short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Vlaho Modrah to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Banovci Polet getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Borko Vlahović hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Pugelnik got free with Vlaho Modrah in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 65 minutes of play Kanarinci's Radoslav Ivanković was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 65 played minutes Kanarinci got a freekick which was hit by Radoslav Ivanković. In the 66th minute, Leon Čorković made a precise shot to the right of Vlaho Modrah. Kanarinci's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Leon Čorković blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlaho Modrah having to make a save. Dinko Čamagajevac hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Leon Čorković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kanarinci made a substitution. Petar Krile replaced Dragutin Vasiljević. In the 89th match minute, Kanarinci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Dragišić to maneuver through the defense. Nebojša Maljković fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vlaho Modrah having to interfere. Romeo Pugelnik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute Petar Krile shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borko Šterger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Kanarinci fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Banovci Polet were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
