An unexpected shot in the 16th minute by Dušan Lutz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 19th minute Patrik Stojnić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roko Mak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes, Veselin Matešić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the hajduk split and the Zaostrog players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Eugen Topol came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the hajduk split fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Topol couldn't finish the play. Zaostrog's Roko Mak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Stojnić in the 37th minute of play. Patrik Stojnić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Roko Mak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kristijan Ilakovac to make the kick off. Roko Mak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugen Topol might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roko Mak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugen Topol ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Zaostrog's Kristijan Ilakovac got a free kick in the 57th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. hajduk split had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
