The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvar Bagge's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Tinglöf narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Karl-Oskar Stenman hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The Netherlands players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
