Ben Bresson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kilian Foubert having to interfere. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Alexandre Decourt sped through Chaligny's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kilian Foubert. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ben Bresson to make the kick off. When Ahmid Mage fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vauréal's protests and gave Ahmid Mage a yellow card for diving instead. Moussa Boussin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes, Éric Lewandowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vauréal and the Chaligny players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amaury Combette came out of the goal in the 100th minute to try and stop a shot by Chaligny's Moussa Boussin. But to his dismay, Moussa Boussin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Vauréal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
