If Thomas Frossard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Canabias's Francis Tardivel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Canabias from getting a goal against them. Canabias's Francis Tardivel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romuald Combaz in the 16th minute of play. Jérôme Sidibe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francis Tardivel having to interfere. Francis Tardivel made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Romuald Combaz sent off a good shot on target. When Thomas Frossard came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Canabias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Frossard couldn't finish the play. Canabias's Claude Legris got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Marc Aguillon took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jordy Thevenet. Jordy Thevenet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romuald Combaz in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francis Tardivel saved Canabias from getting behind. In the 34th minute, Jean-Marc Chauvel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romuald Combaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Frédéric Hervo made a precise shot to the right of Francis Tardivel. Canabias's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of Canabias booed when champagney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célestin Sabatier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Romuald Combaz made the kick off in the second half. Romuald Combaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francis Tardivel having to interfere. After 55 minutes, Romuald Combaz made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Canabias's Francis Tardivel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jean-Marie Clairet fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canabias's protests and gave Jean-Marie Clairet a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Jean-Marie Clairet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute Melvin Bosch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francis Tardivel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frédéric Hervo struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Francis Tardivel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for champagney. Jean-Marc Aguillon kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 84 played minutes Canabias got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Marc Chauvel. Romuald Combaz, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 90 minutes of play, champagney's Romuald Combaz made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francis Tardivel was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 94th minute Romuald Combaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francis Tardivel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. champagney's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
