After a defensive mix-up in Souchez's zone, Henri Morat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geoffrey Thil came out of the goal and Henri Morat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bixente Dromard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Grolier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romaric Soufflet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Napoli FC 1926 were awarded a corner. Justin Coubard went to the cornerflag to take it. Napoli FC 1926's Justin Coubard was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Geoffrey Thil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Bixente Dromard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Romaric Soufflet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bixente Dromard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Patrick Grolier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henri Morat made a kick off. Geoffrey Thil made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Sylvain Droin sent off a good shot on target. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Napoli FC 1926's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Youri Rech was slow to take the kick. During this time Souchez's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Youri Rech almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Napoli FC 1926's Patrick Grolier did a great save. Patrick Grolier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romaric Soufflet in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romaric Soufflet in the 69th minute of play forced Napoli FC 1926's goalkeeper Patrick Grolier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Napoli FC 1926's Firmin Leandri got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Napoli FC 1926's Henri Morat in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Souchez's goalie prevented a goal. Firmin Leandri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoffrey Thil having to interfere. Patrick Grolier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romaric Soufflet in the 87th minute of play. Romaric Soufflet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Grolier having to interfere. If Henri Morat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Souchez had won after a very even match.
